II was surprised at how much I related to having all kinds of anxiety throughout my life; the fact that the author used authentic, real-world examples helped to make a down to earth, believable connection. She isn’t a health professional, but she certainly demonstrated a mastery of understanding and functional coping tools.
With practical suggestions for managing anxiety both in the moment and proactively, it is an all-inclusive guidebook to make life more manageable during times of heightened stress.
From spiritual practices like meditation and mindfulness to creating lists and learning time management, there’s something for everyone. It was great to see the wide spectrum of possibilities to choose from, as the author recognizes that like life itself, there is no one size fits all solution. I am having my son read this, knowing that he will come away with something powerful to manage his own bouts of anxiety.
