Tender and true
I never knew a pure heart

A protective embrace
Moments that run so deep
You make me feel safe
From morning ‘til sleep
Patient and steadfast
You wipe away the tears
You stand by side
As I fight all my fears
Playful, open-hearted
With the spirit of a little boy
You’ve awakened my dreams
And shown me a life of joy
Kisses that electrify
Every touch ignites a fire
It’s your love and your arms
That I will forever desire
Generously affectionate
Eyes of stormy slate charcoal
