Book of the Week: This Time Next Year

This Time Next Year, by Sophie Cousens

It’s time for the 2022 book reviews to begin! I’ve had this on my shelf since last year, and purposely waited until this new year so I could enjoy it during the right timing. Yeah, I know, I’m weird like that!

Well, you know by now how I love a good romance. When I was in isolation limbo (thanks ‘rona!), this book was what I needed to get me through the long hours. I loved the bad-luck-predicting ingenue who tried to hide away on her New Years birthday to avoid the inevitable calamity—which never failed to find her in the most humorous of ways. But sometimes, bad luck can lead to the most profound good luck, and this was the journey we got to take with Minnie Cooper.

It has sweetness, love, cute twists, a li’l bit of crazy and lots of hope.

Hope that life can change in an instant for the better. Hope that love can find its way to you. Hope that a new year can bring new beginnings. It inspired me to think about where I wanted to be “this time next year,” and reminded me that only I can make it happen.

Great read to start off my Goodreads 2022 challenge!
