Book of the Week: The Dating Plan

The Dating Plan by Sara Desai

I am a lover of romance novels, so it comes as no surprise that I absolutely adored The Dating Plan. And this book came at the perfect time to warm up my soul with a light, playful story about a planned romance gone awry in all the best ways.

I have to say, I was taken in by the author right away; there was just something about the ease of her writing style that wasn’t as intense or complicated as other authors, and I think that’s what I really loved most. Fun, cheeky and sweet, I absolutely adored the premise of the book: make a deal with an old crush to date and get married so that he can get his inheritance and she can get her matchmaking family off of her back.

It made me secretly remember how there are a few crushes from my past I wouldn’t mind rekindling a friendship and dating plan with…

I enjoyed some of the twists and turns thrown in there along the way, some predictable (in a fulfilling way!) and some a-has that kept you wondering: what else was so and so hiding? It was also full of humor; a not-so-serious romance was the perfect way to spend a few of my more stressful evenings.

I simply loved the banter of Daisy and Liam as they denied their feelings, got carried away with misunderstandings and fought off those who were against their “fake marriage” intentions. Who wouldn’t root for an old childhood crush to finally come to fruition in the future?

Absolutely charming read.
