Butterfly Travels: Nashville Edition

Wow, it’s been a bit of time since I traveled somewhere new it seems. Nashville was even better than I could have imagined. A city full of LIFE and MUSIC every single day is something I never expected—and absolutely loved. It was charming and adorable, as were the people there.

I was actually there for a work event, but I won't bore you with those details and instead I’ll just summarize what this little butterfly traveler took away from the overall experience. Like the opportunity to spend time with my son. Yes, my senior son about to graduate—he was in between AP exams and finals and so I let him play hooky.

How many more opportunities does a mom have to spend quality time with her growing boy before he’s too old for her? 😉

It wasn’t all rosy, as the poor kid was bored to tears while I worked, and though he did help out on occasion, a spiritual conference with a lot of huggers was not his favorite place in the world to be. But during those off-the-clock hours, we made the best of it.

He is such a fun travel companion. Always down to try whatever. He brings out the inner child in me. So we headed to downtown Nashville our first night and discovered a great little BBQ place with live music. A few more trips were taken downtown for more local food, vibes, and watching and wishing we were on the party buses.

We also toured the Country Music Hall of Fame and checked out a part of the Grand Ole Opry. Had we had more time, we could have done a little more, but we both agreed that we want to come back!

Part of this trip was a reminder to bring myself back into balance. I had been working insane hours and was completely exhausted. I forgot what it was like to be out from behind my computer. I loved being among real humans that I typically only see behind Zoom screens—and being able to remember how much I love interviewing, public speaking, and performing have renewed that passion within me again.

Still at the age of 49, I am putting other people’s dreams ahead of my own—but I realized it does not have to be one way or another.

I can still build my dreams alongside helping others; it just makes the world a better place when all of us can realize our gifts and goals.

That being said… I am excited to launch my new pilot program and new healing modalities, to include life transition coaching, astrological chiron healing reports, and past life trauma recovery sessions. It has been in me for decades to move in this direction, and that’s where my focus needs to be now—along with the precious time I have left with my kids, nurturing my family and friend connections, hopefully falling in love again some day, and most importantly, finally taking proper care of this body that supports the soul I am inside.

Nashville for me was about inner child expression and remembrance. And I can’t wait to go back one day and explore it in all its glory.
